Digitalisation Levels 2 Context Adopting a top-level ontology requires both: the top-level ontology itself and an approach that enables one to evolve one’s existing data towards the top-level ontology. bCLEARer is such an approach and has been in continuous development since the late 1980s. It provides a basis for comparing the before and after states of the model. This can then be used to assess and visualize the improvements. We are developing an assessment based upon digitalisation levels. Its prime purpose is to enable the assessment of the level of digitalisation across a system (or portion of a system). It can be used to assess how data quality improvement processes increase the level of digitalisation . 2 4 6 3 5 7 1 8 7 The facets behind the classification Flat structure known extent computer media structured paper brain unknown unstructured implicit syntactic explicit implicit syntactic explicit unstructured paper brain unknown 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 form semantics grounded grounded Questions & Feedback
